EVENT - The agency of early career academics: a counterpart
to student engagement?
Mile End campus, Queen Mary, University of London
14 May 2012
This is the eighth seminar in the 2011/12 educational
research seminars series run by the Learning Institute at Queen Mary,
University of London. Given by Dr Peter Kahn (Director of Studies for the
online professional doctorate (EdD) in Higher Education at the University of
Liverpool), the seminar will draw parallels between student engagement and the
agency of staff through a focus on the professional learning of early career
academics. This seminar highlights ways in which an individual student or
academic can shape their learning or professional practice, focusing on the
reflexive and social underpinnings of such engagement.
